Sat prep online course

If you are heading into your last year of college and you want to pursue a master’s degree, you may want to start thinking about taking the GRE’s.

The graduate record examination has been around since the late 1940’s, and it is used by many graduate schools to determine admittance into their program. The test costs roughly $200 to take, and the results can be valid for up to five years, so you don’t have to rush into applying for grad school.

But if you want to do well on the exam, it is going to take quite a bit of test prep review. Here are a few tips on how to boost your scores.

  • GRE Test Prep Classes. You may feel like you’re headed back to high school when you had to deal with SAT test preparation, but GRE test prep classes will be the best way to learn how to navigate the exam. The instructors will offer students clues on how to narrow down answer choices, resources to study with, and plenty of practice tests to gauge your progress at each point in the course.
  • Test Prep Tutoring. Of course, sitting in a big class of students may not be your cup of tea. If you need something more one-on-one, you could look into private test prep tutoring. You can meet with a tutor on your own time, and he or she can help you specifically focus on areas of weakness, and build upon your strengths.
  • Practice. There is nothing that can prepare you more for the GRE than practice. For most standardized tests, the key is understanding the exam, rather than the content itself. If you know how long each section is, how much time it takes to complete each one, and how to look for important phrases and words, you can essentially master the test before you get to exam day. So, buy plenty of GRE test prep books and get to work.

The GRE’s don’t have to be overwhelming as long as you take the right steps to prepare yourself. Check out this website for more: ivyed.net
